Robert Houston is a native of Rochelle, Illinois who served on the US Navy Destroyer Leftwich during the Persian Gulf War. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana. After graduating in 2002 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, he completed an internship in internal medicine and his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago.
In 2006, Dr. Houston and his wife moved to Virginia Beach, then to Chesapeake, where they have raised their three children. He was honored to practice anesthesiology with the physicians at Sentara Medical Group for over 10 years. Having a special interest in addiction medicine, he joined Right Path in 2017.
Dr. Houston is deeply committed to helping those suffering from addiction to find their path back to a healthy life. He spends his free time making his kids laugh, riding his motorcycle through the countryside, woodworking, swimming, and traveling.
