Melissa Sykes, M.S., CSAC, CAADC, Resident in Counseling

Suboxone DoctorMelissa Sykes is a native of Virginia and has received her undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University in Psychology. Following her bachelor’s degree, Melissa went on to obtain her Master’s in Art Therapy and Counseling. She is currently working towards obtaining her CSAC, LPC, and ATR credentials while working in the counseling field. Melissa has worked with a variety of different populations and treatment centers, where she is now currently serving adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Melissa operates from a person to person-centered treatment approach, where the focus is on the client first and foremost. She strives to obtain the most efficient therapeutic relationship to meet client’s needs and overcome all challenges and barriers. Also specializing in the field of art therapy, Melissa finds that visual-based interventions can prove to be an alternative, equally effective treatment modality for clients in conjunction with verbal therapy techniques.

Each day, Melissa looks forward to helping clients of Right Path Treatment Centers achieve their goals and enable reflection, insight, and mental/emotional processing. She hopes to help each person become the best, most fulfilling version of themselves.

When not hard at work, Melissa enjoys making art, reading, dancing, and spending time with her Fiancé and their two dogs.
